The colors of the rainbow
One morning, the rain was falling on Moko's village. After a few hours, the wind rose up and blew away the clouds, and the sun was back.
Moko went outside, and what a surprise awaited him! Huge transparent strips of color rose from the distant countryside, as if suspended in the air, linking the ground and the sky. A rainbow. "Isn't it beautiful!" cried out Moko. l'm going to go and look at the beautiful colors."
Moko walked towards the rainbow. He wondered if he might be able to bring home some of the colors to give to a friend. It would make a lovely gift.
Eager to reach the rainbow, Moko picked up his pace. But the closer he got to it, the more the beautiful colors disappeared.
Before long, the lovely rainbow had vanished entirely.
His heart saddened, Moko turned away.
When he'd almost reached his village, he chanced to turn back and look again. What a surprise! The rainbow was back. "I don't understand this at all," Moko said to himself. "The beautiful colors all disappeared when I tried to get close to them, only to reappear when I walk away ?"
