The rebellious mountain by Arnaud de Buchy, Sonia Grandame and Joachim Hérissé published by Le Regard Sonore
The sky's beauty was reflected upon the surface of the big lake. Moko and Totemie took advantage of the wonderful weather.
Suddenly, a strange noise came from the side of the mountain. "It sounds like a storm", said Totemie. "Impossible", answered Moko, "the sun is shining!"
Moko and Totemie raised to the village. They found its inhabitants in a craze. "Run away", they cried. "Or the mud will engulf you."
Just then, an enormous mudslide appeared, resembling a large cloud, hurtling down a cliff. "Quick Totemie! We must do something! In my travels, I have learned how to speak to the mountains."
Moko sprang towards the mudslide, and implored it: "Please spare this village and instead take what I hold most precious!" Moko held Mei-Li's rock in his hand. He told himself that the moment had now come for him to use it and like her, calm the wrath of nature
Totémie stopped him; “No, Moko, do not sacrifice your most precious gift, the mountain will notgive it back.” Totémie took the colored pearls from her hair and threw it as far as she could.
