The white beaches island
The storm had passed, and the sun was shining down through multi-colored rays… Moko, in his canoe, approached the shoreline.
He wasn't quite sure where he was, but he told himself that the country before him must be expecting him, since the waves had accompanied him right up to the shore. It was a strange-looking beach… A white beach. Surely there's a village nearby, he told himself.
Maybe everybody's still sleeping, or off working in the fields… And so he set off to look for them.
The path he followed carried him, step by step, into a world where huge plants with strange leaves grew. Moko had never seen anything quite so beautiful…
But Moko didn't pass any fields or villages along his way, and at the end of his trek, he found only another beach that was just as white, bordered by the turquoise sea… No one lives here? He asked himself with quiet amazement. But what's the purpose of a lovely forest and such beautiful beaches if there's no one around to appreciate them? This country must have a secret…
