Percy Penguin is afraid of the oven
Percy Penguin was afraid of the oven. “How come, Percy?” his mother asked, as she untied her apron. But Percy couldn’t explain. He started to cry.
“Hey there!” Someone walked across the backyard. It was Kolby Koala. “Why are you crying, Percy?” he asked. “I’m afraid of the oven,” Percy sobbed. Mama Penguin had an idea. She taped two majestic paper towers to the front of the oven door. “See? Now it’s a castle!” she beamed.
That worried Kolby Koala. “At my house, the oven gets hot sometimes,” he said. “Is there a dragon living in this castle?” “Of course not, silly!” giggled Percy. But Kolby Koala started to cry.
“Knock, knock!” Someone was at the door. It was Damian Duck. “Why are you crying, Kolby?” he asked. “I’m afraid of the oven,” Kolby sniffled. Percy had an idea. He covered the oven with a blanket. “All gone!” he declared, feeling quite proud.
That frightened Damian Duck. “We can’t see what’s under there anymore,” he said. “Could there be a wolf?” “Of course not, silly!” giggled Percy Penguin and Kolby Koala. But Damian Duck started to cry.
