Has anyone seen Anila? By Kouam Tawa Illustrated by Monica Hernandez Published by Lirabelle
“Ooo! Ooo! Ooo!” blows the wind. “Ooo! Ooo! Ooo!” cries the wind. “Ooo! Ooo! Ooo!” begs the wind who is searching high and low for Anila.
“She is out on the savannah,” says the migrating bird, “playing chase with the red monkey.”
“She is deep in the forest,” says the red monkey, “playing hide and seek with the royal python.”
“She is down on the river,” says the royal python, “playing cards with the butterflyfish.”
“She is out in the marshes,” says the butterflyfish, “wrestling with the pygmy hippo.”
“She is up in the mountains,” says the pygmy hippo, “playing hopscotch with the wild donkey.”
“She is out in the desert,” says the wild donkey, “playing marbles with the red rock hare.”
“She is over on the coast,” says the red rock hare, “playing ball with the green turtle.”
“She is I don’t know where,” says the green turtle, “playing I don’t know what with I don’t know who.”
“Ooo! Ooo! Ooo!” blows the wind. “Ooo! Ooo! Ooo!” scolds the wind. “Ooo! Ooo! Ooo!” sobs the wind who is looking in vain for his daughter Anila.
